The Milwaukee Brewers are finally baseball champions. On Wednesday, October 28, 2026, they beat the Tampa Bay Rays 4-1 and won the World Series four games to one.

57 years of waiting

It is the first title in the team's 57-year history. They had reached the World Series only once before, in 1982, and lost in seven games.

The Brewers won 103 regular-season games: the best record in the Major Leagues and the best in their history.

The deciding game

It was played at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida, the Rays' home.

Pitcher Jacob Misiorowski was the star: he threw five and two-thirds innings without allowing a run. Closer Trevor Megill got the final out on a soft ground ball.

The day before, the Rays had avoided defeat with a comeback in the 12th inning, thanks to a hit by Ben Williamson. But it wasn't enough.

An almost perfect run

In the playoffs, the Brewers won 12 games and lost only 2. In the National League final, they swept the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The quotes

"I don't even have words", said Misiorowski. And Megill: "Ten-year-old me would be so proud".
